Meet Arika.

Arika Nicole is a passionate and thought-provoking fine art photographer, known for her captivating use of place, color and application of metaphors. With a deeply profound love of old-world elements and the natural world, Arika’s work transcends her viewers to another time and place, free of distractions in the modern world.

Arika’s love of art developed at a young age when she would paint, design and craft projects as a means of self-expression. Upon earning her Bachelor of Arts from Southern New Hampshire University, she has continued to expand her education and refine her style of work as she pursues her Master in Fine Arts as a graduate student at the Academy of Art University.

One could describe Arika’s style as earthy, rich in tonality and expressive in a manner that denotes historical artistic predecessors while employing the use of modern technologies. She employs a cinematic framing to her images that allows the viewer to feel present, experiencing all the raw emotion that each image depicts. Arika draws vast inspiration from both nature and the study of symbology that allows her to express her own life experiences in a passionately poetic and melodious manner.

Arika Nicole’s fine art photography has been featured in several print publications and has won awards for the last three consecutive years including Directors Choice and Best of Show, Series at the Academy of Art University’s Spring Show. As she approaches the completion of her graduate program, and finalizes her current project, When Words Failed Me, she not only plans on pursuing a teaching position to guide and coach other young artists, but will also be furthering her own body of work; as she believes art has the power to connect us, removing the daily constructs of our lives and allowing emotion and inspiration to tie her, and her audience together.
