When Words Failed Me

I have many moments of reflection, and I often find myself pondering the surreal path that has led me here. Call it a haunting dream, a paradoxical blend of a beautiful yet nightmarish reality. I have searched for a word that encapsulates this duality, but perhaps it eludes even the most nuanced language. Language, though a powerful tool, often falters when tasked with conveying the profound complexities of life. When faced with a diagnosis of breast cancer at the age of 38, I grappled not only with the physical and emotional upheaval but with an isolating sense of solitude.

I desperately needed to unleash the demons that were winning my internal battle, so I turned to the ancient languages of symbolism, color theory, metaphors, myths, and allegories—a visual lexicon that has spanned centuries. Unable to articulate the depths of my experience verbally, I wove a photographic narrative that speaks volumes about my gratitude for life, the turmoil that rattled my core, and my unwavering determination to survive.

These images, set against the backdrop of nature, transcend the limitations of spoken language. Through them, I created a world where my story unfolded - a testament to the resilience of the human spirit. In embracing a visual transcendent language that has echoed through millennia, I not only shared my journey but also found healing for my soul
